Crow Wing Power Hosts 2026 Annual Business Meeting

On Thursday, April 16 at 5 p.m., approximately 200 Crow Wing Power members gathered at Heritage Church in Baxter for the Cooperative’s 2026 Annual Business Meeting. The evening began with a social hour, giving members the opportunity to connect with employees and representatives from People’s Security Company, Crow Wing Power Credit Union, as well as Crow Wing Power staff and board members.

Crow Wing Power has a long history of growing alongside the members it serves.

In June 1937, Crow Wing Power Rural Electric Cooperative was formed. By January 1938, electricity flowed to 140 members for the first time. In those early years, the cooperative operated out of a small headquarters on Maple Street in Brainerd.

The 2025 Minnesota legislative session officially wrapped up on June 9 following a one-day special session to finalize the state budget. Throughout the session, the Minnesota Rural Electric Association (MREA) worked on behalf of Minnesota’s electric cooperatives to advocate for policies that support reliable, affordable and sustainable energy for member-owners across the state.
