For more than 20 years, People’s Security has helped protect homes and businesses throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area. That commitment to our communities remains as strong as ever, but we’re taking an important step to ensure those services continue to grow and thrive well into the future.
People’s Security is transitioning its monitored security accounts to Heartland Security, a security company owned by electric cooperatives across Minnesota and Iowa. At the same time, People’s Security’s parent company is becoming an owner of Heartland Security, joining 13 other electric cooperatives that already govern the company. This means we’re not stepping away from security services. Instead, we’re partnering with an organization that shares our cooperative values and our commitment to serving local communities.
This partnership allows Heartland Security to focus exclusively on delivering high-quality security services while allowing Crow Wing Power to remain invested through cooperative ownership. By leveraging the strengths and resources of a larger cooperative network, we can help ensure customers continue receiving dependable, local service backed by organizations that understand the importance of putting people first.
Just as importantly, this transition allows Crow Wing Power to remain focused on the mission you rely on us for every day: providing safe, reliable electric service. One of the Cooperative Principles is Cooperation Among Cooperatives, and this partnership is a great example of that principle in action.
