Washington Youth Tour Contest is Open to High School Juniors

full width paragraph

BE THERE. BE HEARD. BE INSPIRED.

We're going on a Power Trip. Join Us.

For more than 50 years, electric cooperatives have sponsored the annual Rural Electric Youth Tour. High school students ages 16-18 are selected for a trip to Washington, D.C. to experience a firsthand look at how government works.

Crow Wing Power selects two local high school juniors and pays all expenses for the trip. Minnesota Rural Electric Association (MREA) coordinates the event for Minnesota's participants. Our local winners will join over 1,900 students from 44 states for an unforgettable week in our nations' capitol.

The 2023 Washington Youth Tour is scheduled for June 13-18 and is open to high school juniors within our service territory.

Students that attend have an experience of a lifetime, visiting all the great sights, memorials and museums, getting to spend a day on Capitol Hill with elected officials, making friends and help them stand out as leaders.

High school juniors interested in applying need to write an essay sharing a little about yourself and why you would be a good candidate. See your high school counselor for more information or fill out the application below.

Completed applications are due by February 10, 2023.
