If you're a high school junior in Cass, Crow Wing or Morrison County, or high school junior that's a member of Crow Wing Power, check out the Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. Spend six days with hundreds of high school juniors and seniors from all over the country. Learn about government, cooperatives, and rural electrification, and the history of our nation.
The 2009 contest will open in early January and close mid February 2009. The winner for this year's contest was Kayla Meyer. The Crow Wing Power contest is open to all area high school juniors. Check with your local high school counselor.
The Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. offers high school juniors the opportunity to better understand the value of rural electrification; become more familiar with the historical and political environment of the nations capital through visits to monuments, government buildings, and cooperative organizations; and to visit Senators and Congressmen to better understand how the federal government works. An experience you won't forget.
The winner for this year's Washington DC trip was Kayla Meyer, daughter of Gordon and Delphine Meyer from Little Falls . She travelled with over 1,400 other high school juniors from around the nation to Washington in June.
