If you're a high school junior in Cass, Crow Wing or Morrison County, or high school junior that's a member of Crow Wing Power, check out the Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. Spend six days in June with hundreds of high school juniors and seniors from all over the country. Learn about government, cooperatives, and rural electrification, and the history of our nation.
The 2012 contest opened in early January and closes February 17. The Crow Wing Power contest is open to all area high school juniors. Check with your local high school counselor. If you're home-schooled, just send the essay to info@cwpower.com.
Write a one-page essay describing a "New Energy Technology Idea" or a futuristic "Energy Thought". It can be fiction or non-fiction.
The Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. offers high school juniors the opportunity to better understand the value of rural electrification; become more familiar with the historical and political environment of the nations capital through visits to monuments, government buildings, and cooperative organizations; and to visit Senators and Congressmen to better understand how the federal government works. An experience you won't forget.
