If you're a Crow Wing Power member and a high school junior, check out the Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. Spend six days with hundreds of high school juniors and seniors from all over the country. Learn about government, cooperatives, and rural electrification, and the history of our nation.
The 2008 contest will opened in early January and closed mid February 2008. The winner for this year's contest is Kayla Meyer. The Crow Wing Power contest is open to all high school juniors who are members of Crow Wing Power in Cass, Crow Wing and Morrison counties. Check with you local high school counselor.
The Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. offers high school juniors the opportunity to better understand the value of rural electrification; become more familiar with the historical and political environment of the nations capital through visits to monuments, government buildings, and cooperative organizations; and to visit Senators and Congressmen to better understand how the federal government works. An experience you won't forget.
The winner for this year's Washington DC trip was Kayla Meyer, daughter of Gordon and Delphine Meyer from Little Falls . She will travel with over 1,400 other high school juniors from around the nation in a trip to Washington in June.
