2018 Member Appreciation Day and Ballots
Crow Wing Power's 81st Annual meeting and Member Appreciation Day was Saturday, June 9 this year. Ballots for Director Elections were sent to members May 9.
A total of 4,798 ballots were cast in this year’s Board of Directors election.
- In District 1 A, Bob Kangas was re-elected with 4,422 votes.
- In District 2 At-Large, incumbent LuAnn Nelson received 3,104 votes over Carl Younce’s 617 votes; Kristin Graham’s 610 votes; and James Hawkinson, who received 367 votes.
- In District 3B, where there was no incumbent, Ric Larson from the Rabbit Lake area near Crosby won the seat with 1,296 votes, over Pat Kasella, with 1,116 votes; James Mecklenburg’s 854 votes; Ron Miller ‘s 739 votes; and David Johnson, who received 725 votes.
A pancake breakfast was served by Chris Cakes from Iowa, who entertained the crowds by flipping and tossing pancakes for attendees to catch on their plates. Kids had many activities including horse rides by the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol. They had the opportunity to remotely control large utility equipment and diggers and ten lucky kids won bikes.
